So, becoming a mom makes you become officially crazy. See, I was one of "those" mom's who said my child would sleep in his own crib at 6 weeks, eating solids at 6 months, wearing the cute diapers you see on TV and weaned at 1 year. Sounds perfect, right? YA... RIGHT!! Dylan NEVER slept in his crib, hated solid foods, and was allergic to paper diapers... and didn't wean for 2 years. Haha, cracks me up. In fact, Dylan slept in our bed up until a few weeks ago, when he discovered the joy of having his own space, did I mention his bed is RIGHT next to mine? Heaven forbid he actually leave mom's sight, even if it is in his sleep.
Now, funny thing is, that I loved every part of it, I loved co-sleeping, that I just skipped over getting a crib this time, and plan on nursing the next one as long as he/she plans to. I loved having Dylan in cloth diapers, I mean, really... would you want to wear paper underwear? Didn't think so. I dunno something about becoming a mom just really turned me eco friendly, and really letting Dylan's personality come through, even if it wasn't what I planned.
My favorite all time baby/toddler lifesaver would be babywearing, and with one like Dylan, who needed constant touch, and being held all the time, I was able to make him happy, without driving myself crazy. Not to mention we never used a stroller until Dylan was 2, why? Because he hated it. Let's be honest here, in a stroller, you get a pretty great view of everyones knees. Even still now, Dylan loves being worn, granted not as often as
he used to, but there are times when every two year old needs to be close to mommy, or Daddy!! Not that I need pictures to prove it, but it's pretty easy to see he is pretty satisfied!
Through it all, I have acquired quite a nice collection of baby carriers and am SOOO looking forward to being able to wear a newborn in some of my carriers! Only a true addicted babywearer, such as myself, would truly understand! :)
